WORLD AIDS DAY
PRESS RELEASE
December 1, 2010

Announcing the original launching of our collaborative
HIV Projects in Zimbabwe
with
HIV-AIDS Zimbabwe Charity

Beginning in late 2006, we expanded the work we do in Zimbabwe with the start of 5 new projects addressing the impact of HIV/AIDS on the children and families of Zimbabwe.  We are partnering with HIV-AIDS Zimbabwe Charity ("HAZ") on these projects.

The new projects include:

THE ILANGA SELF EMPOWERMENT NETWORK: A community based support project for HIV+ single mothers in Bulawayo

2 NEW HIV/AIDS CLINICS:  2 start-up clinics providing basic HIV care and meds in Bulawayo + Chitungwiza

THE CHITUNGWIZA ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN PROJECTA  community based project south of Harare, run by the Chitungwiza Unit K Seke Baptist Church, providing support to at-risk children so they can remain at home and avoid becoming orphans.

THE HOME OF HOPE CHILDREN’S HOME: A small new children's home in Nyanga operated by the Mutare Diocese.

THE WORLD AIDS DAY STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST PROJECT:   A essay contest for teens in secondary schools in Bulawayo.  Their essays are astounding and compelling.  We urge you to read a report about the contest as well as the winning essays.

We have completed our February-March 2009 site visits to all projects.  We will be in Zimbabwe for one month (Mid-February to mid-March 2010) to conduct site visits of the existing projects.

We will be announcing in December 2010 our new push for increased assistance to our local community and our local youth.

We are excited to be able to do what we can to make a difference to those in need.

Thanks for supporting us and for giving back to our local and global community!  Nothing we do would ever be possible without your support!
